I was commissioned to write this song by Devon Pilgrim, an organization created by Exeter Cathedral to oversee the various new pilgrimage routes being created in the county. The Archangel’s Way is one of these new walking routes which begins at St Michael de Rupe, Brentor and curves right across the north of the moor, finishing at St Michael the Archangel in Chagford. The route calls at various villages and churches along the way and my challenge was to give them all a mention!
